Privacy policy

• 30 of our 46 tools run in your browser and never upload your file. The others upload it to our server, process it and delete the temporary copy when the job finishes.
• You do not need an account. We learn your name or email address only if you write to us.
• Analytics are optional and stay off until you allow them.
• PDF Logic does not show ads at the moment.

PDF Logic is operated by Appzotech Enterprises Pvt Ltd. Appzotech is the data controller for personal data collected through pdflogic.io: it decides how that data is used, and it is the company to contact about it.

Where a file is processed depends on the tool, and every tool page says which of these applies before you choose a file.

Tools that run in your browser

30 tools, including Split PDF, Edit PDF and Compress images, do all of their work on your device. Your browser reads the file. It is not sent to us, and we cannot see it.

Tools that use our server

14 tools, including Compress PDF and PDF to Word, need software that a browser cannot run. When you start one of these jobs, your file is sent to our server over an encrypted connection. The server processes it, returns the result and deletes its temporary copies when the job finishes, including when the job fails. We do not keep your files, and we use them only to do the job you asked for.

Tools that do both

Scan to PDF and OCR PDF recognize text in your browser and upload the pages only to build the finished PDF. The same deletion rule applies.

Two tools worth knowing about

Remove Background downloads its AI model, about 220 MB, from Hugging Face the first time you use it. The model comes to your browser. Your image does not go to Hugging Face or to us.

Resume Builder keeps your draft in your browser. When its optional writing assistant is available and you choose to use it, the text you select, and any job description you add, is sent through our server to Google’s Gemini service to produce a suggestion. Nothing is sent until you approve it, and we do not store it.

When you use a server tool

For each job on our server we record a short technical entry: which tool ran, when, how long it took, how many files there were and their total size, the general file type (PDF, image, Office document or HTML), the mode you chose, the size of the result, and whether the job succeeded or which error code it ended with. The entry does not contain file names, file contents or passwords. We use these entries to find and fix failures, and each one is deleted automatically 30 days after it is recorded.

As with any website, our server sees the IP address your browser connects from. We use it briefly to limit abuse, such as too many requests in a short time, and it is not added to these entries.

Optional analytics

If you choose Allow analytics, your browser also sends us usage information: the pages you open, the tools you use and the steps you take in them (choosing a file, starting a job, downloading the result), how many files a job has and their total size, how long things take, page-speed measurements, a code for any error a page runs into, your device type, your browser with its major version, your operating system, the kind of site that referred you, and a random ID that links the events of one visit and resets after 30 minutes without activity. File names and file contents are never part of it.

Where country reporting is switched on, your browser also asks a small Cloudflare service for your approximate country. Cloudflare sees your IP address in order to answer. We receive only a country code.

Each of these records is deleted automatically 30 days after it is recorded.

Allowing analytics also adds to a second, simpler tally of page views and tool use. Each entry in it holds the time, the kind of event (a page view, a file being chosen, a job starting or ending, or a download), the page, your device type, the kind of site that referred you and, for a tool step, a rough range for the number of files or for the time the job took and whether it worked. An entry has no ID that links it to any other entry and no IP address, so the tally cannot show what one person did. Because of that it has no fixed end date.

The same choice turns on Google Analytics, a Google service that counts visits and shows which pages and tools are used. Your browser sends Google the address and title of each page you open, including anything you type into the tool search, which becomes part of the address; the page you came from; when you scroll to the end of a page, start filling in a form (but not what you type) or follow a link to another site or to one of our sample files; and your device and browser details. Google uses your IP address to estimate your approximate location and does not store it in Google Analytics. Google Analytics sets two cookies on pdflogic.io, _ga and _ga_72JMFGR21V, which tell your later visits apart from other people’s for up to two years. We have switched off its advertising features, so it is not used to personalize ads. Google keeps the detail linked to these cookies for 2 months for individual events and 14 months for visitor-level information. File names and file contents are never sent to it. Choosing Essential Only turns it off and removes those cookies.

When you write to us

• Contact form: your name, email address, the topic you pick and your message.
• Feedback page: your message, the name you give, your email address if you add one, the line your browser sends to name itself and your operating system and, when our hosting setup supplies it, your country. Your IP address is not saved with your feedback.
• Ratings inside a tool: the thumbs up or down you give after a download, the tool, the reason you pick and any comment. These are stored without your name, email address or IP address.

We use messages and feedback to answer you and to improve the tools, and we keep them until you ask us to delete them. If an address is used to abuse the forms, we may add that IP address to a block list.

Apart from the two Google Analytics cookies, which are set only if you allow analytics, PDF Logic’s pages do not set cookies. They use your browser’s storage instead, for these things:

• your analytics choice and your light or dark theme;
• the tools you opened recently, so search can suggest them first;
• work you choose to keep in a tool, such as saved signatures, watermark presets and drafts in Resume Builder, Edit PDF, Scan to PDF and HTML to PDF;
• copies of the pages you have visited and of the tool engines they load, kept in your browser’s own storage on your device so that a tool you have opened before can work offline;
• files a tool downloads once and reuses, such as the Remove Background model and the language data for text recognition;
• a file you share to the installed PDF Logic app from another app, which is held in your browser’s storage on your device only until the page that opens it has shown it, and is never sent to our server by that step;
• two small preferences for the optional “Support PDF Logic” note: that it has already appeared once in this tab, and, after you choose Not now, the date until which it stays hidden;
• if you allowed analytics, the random visit ID, which is cleared when you switch to Essential Only.

All of this stays on your device. Clearing the site data for pdflogic.io in your browser settings removes it.

Because PDF Logic does not show ads at the moment, no advertising cookies are set.

These are the outside services PDF Logic relies on, and when each one is involved. When your browser downloads something from one of them, that service sees your IP address and browser details, as any website would.

PDF Logic does not show ads at the moment. If we introduce them, they will appear only on guide pages, under a clear label, and never on a tool’s workspace or beside upload and download buttons.

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and send you a copy;
• correct it if it is wrong;
• delete it.

In practice the personal data we hold is the messages and feedback you sent us. Write to hello@appzotech.com from the address you used, so we can find them. To stop optional analytics, use Privacy choices on this page.

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR in Europe may give you further rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
