All 46 PDF and image tools

Every tool is free and works without an account. They are grouped by the job you want done; if you already know the format, search for it, such as “jpg to pdf”. The badge on each card says whether the file stays on your device or is uploaded.

Not sure where to start?

Pick a tool by the problem you have

Tool names assume you already know what the job is called. Start from the problem instead: each card below names a common one and the tool that solves it.

  • The upload form says your file is too large

Use Compress PDF and enter the form’s limit as the target size. Scanned PDFs shrink the most, because each page is stored as a photo. For pictures, Compress images does the same job with a target in KB.

  • You have several files but can send only one

Merge PDF joins PDFs in the order you set. If the files are photos or scans, JPG to PDF puts them into one document.

  • You need a few pages, not the whole document

Split PDF pulls out the pages you pick and leaves the original untouched. Choose Organize PDF when you also want to reorder, rotate or delete pages in the same pass.

  • The wording needs to change

For a typo or a date, Edit PDF changes the text in place. For a rewrite, convert with PDF to Word, edit in Word and save back with Word to PDF. A PDF has no paragraphs to reflow, so long edits are easier in a word processor.

  • A form has to be signed and sent back

Sign PDF places a signature you draw, type or upload on the page, with dates and initials where the form asks for them. It is a visible signature, not a certificate-based digital one.

  • You can’t select or search the text

The PDF is a scan: a picture of each page with no text behind it. OCR PDF reads the picture and adds a text layer you can search and copy.

  • The figures are stuck in a PDF table

PDF to Excel rebuilds the rows and columns as a spreadsheet and lets you correct cells before you export. Check merged cells and totals afterwards; they are what a converter most often gets wrong.

  • Part of the document must stay private

Redact PDF removes the selected text and images from the file itself. A black box drawn in an editor only covers them, and the words can still be copied out. To keep the whole file private, lock it with Protect PDF.
